Xcel Solar*RewardsTM Process
Simple Solar puts customer care first. Beginning in January 2010, Simple Solar has rolled out a process to attempt to protect our customers from Xcel Energy's REC drops and application rejections. The process is as follows:
- Putting customer care first, Simple Solar encourages all customers to ensure that their Xcel bill matches their Xcel account. Contact Xcel to ensure these two items are in sync.
- Once confirmed, Simple Solar will then submit customer Application to Xcel and receive an Xcel Application Deposit Form. This form must be executed by the client and be submitted with a $250 deposit to Xcel within 5 days of receipt. During this time, Simple Solar will be responsible for submitting technical details of the system to Xcel.
- Once the Application deposit is received by Xcel, Simple Solar will be sent a letter of congratulations. This will include an interconnection agreement as well as a reservation letter that locks in the client's rebate. Both documents must be signed by the client. These documents could take up to one month to receive.
- Next, Simple Solar schedules the permitting, site verification visit and installation.
- Once final inspection is passed, Simple Solar submits passed inspection, insurance information, and invoice to Xcel.
- Once Final Application is submitted to Xcel a final approval is conducted by Xcel.
- Final Solar*Rewards Contract is received by Simple Solar and must be signed by client.
