Xcel Utility
In response to a mandate set forth by Colorado voters in 2004 with the passage of Amendment 37, Xcel Energy is required to incorporate 20% renewable energy resources into its energy portfolio by 2020. To achieve this goal, Xcel Energy created the Solar Rewards Program. Officially launched in spring of 2006, this program provides a significant cash incentive to Xcel rate payers in Colorado. The Xcel service area covers most of the Denver Metro Area and parts of the Colorado Front Range.
